I don't think you need an input to get into the convergence set-up. The test switch position should be in the "off" or whatever all the way in one direction is... I don't know about the sync on green issue. I had 2 Harman CRTs. The first one had sync on green, the other had RGBHV. check how many input BNCs you have. TO check if your remote is even working with the
projector- you should get SOMETHING to happen when you push a button. For instance, the M1, M2,M3 buttons are set-ups for different sources. So if you feed an input source and hit M1 and M2, it should change to a different set-up- assuming there are two in there. OR, push PRJ and then try one of the geometry controls, you should see the picture shape change.
Important to first make sure the remote is talking to the projector.

Yeah it is an RGBHV input, I found that one of the sets, either another Harman or a Dwin used a composite signal into the G input of the RGBHV for calibration, thought it may have been an idea they applied to this one... But it would seem not, as I think you would remember this somewhat odd setup method. Anyways, yeah the remote works, fresh batts, I thought it may be intermittent, as the buttons dont always work, but I really need to sit down and systematically try them. It is poss that the corroded neg battery lead to the remote pcb is causing it to work intermittently, either that or I am pressing commands that don't apply to the mode I was in. Ill try your suggestions and see if that gives results. Oh, and yes, the M buttons do seem to try to switch to diff. presets, but im not sure how different they are. oh and I can get the R,G,B buttons to blank in one of the internal test patterns, so they are sending signal. I still may consider wiring in a better IR receiver once I figure out how far Im taking this. I would love to switch to this if it does 720p or maybe even 1080i, as my Barco's tubes are pretty burned, and theyre the sony's, so not sure if I will ever get replacements, probly better to buy another one and use that for parts when I am doing better with the $$$.... Anyways, off to check the remote, hopefully I can get in!

EDIT: So I tried a bunch of different combinations, and when I switch from grey bars, the middle test position, to the bottom one, which is the incoming signal, OR, if there is no signal present, it changes to one of the test patterns, convergence grid I think, for a split second- then goes blank, and makes the 'no input' noise. I hope this isn't really bad...

I think you'll be best to try to call Audio Video Source on Monday. They made these projectors- they'll be able to answer
all of your questions.

Let us know how it works out!

Have you tried a logitech Harmony remote? THeir website would be able to tell you if it has codes for it.

I actually set one up for my uncle, the simplest custom remote I could think of without resorting to URC (cant stand the wizards), BUT, if they have codes I can learn them into his then learn them into my RTI... and im kicking myself for not picking up a couple of those rebadged pronto neo's, one for IR learning, and one for kids/anyone. I love my RTI, but as I am not of the economic demographic that usually throws them around, a remote that is usually about 1k after programming is something I definately do not want to damage... just spent 40 bucks on a replacement battery, and that was a hookup price. Anyways, I wish all remotes programmed like RTI, or at least if RTI would make a color model under 500... oh well...

(Losha here)

It's a Harman Video Series 2 Data for shure
the JBL relabeled machines were older ones
this machine really is build by Harman (the only 1 they ever build)
the guys that build these are the one's that started DWIN after the Harman Video section went belly-up.

I had the same machine.. only a few differences
Mine was the original build, wired remote and only line-double
your seem to have what i never could find more info on, at a later stage they "upgraded" the DPM-8 with wireless remote and scan upto 720p
The machine is 8" EM focus and totally fanless ...

i loved it .. unfortunately 800x600 didn't cut it for me so i upgraded about 20 times and ended up with my NEC 9PG (which has to go now too)

Chris

Just left a message with AV source... their VM message says support for Image two! Hopefully they can help... I think im going to order a 6 dollar manual... it better not be a cutsheet.
