Looking for a little help. This 9500 is my second PJ from Curt, after my Barco 808s. New tubes and setup.
I have a very very good picture now, Way better than the 808 (which was great), even the wife was surprised:)
I read the manuals, Bill Blues guide, Dragnm newbie set up guide, Etech tips, talked to Curt lots when I picked it up, and read most every thred here.
Here is my problem. I centered rasters, maximized width to about 90, height 30 (tallish i Know) on my 16:9 slash 4:3 screen. After doing geometry, I converged. Then my rasters were off to one side a bit. No lomger centered. Since they are maximized, any movement pushes them VERY close to the tube edge. I want them to use the centre of the tube. I think.
What did I do wrong? Is it because I converged at static/centre? Should I skip over trying to convege the center, the first option that comes up on any convergence option: random, interp, guided. I think converging the very center moves the whole raster. But when convergence is zero'd out, the center convergence is WAY out on all colours.
And, I didn't think I sucked, but my wife confirms IT IS true:)

Ok Did you use the Mechanical Guided set up built into the marquee? First use that to make sure each grid is centered on the tube face.
After you have all that done use an external source to center the image to the tube face use the green color only, do this while in green convergence service menu.
Now that you have your green external grid centered exit out green service convergence and do the normal convergence.

Did that.

Will try that.

Do you think it matters if I use Guided, intrerp, random. at least to start?
I'm off to the Valley for rugby all day Sunday, so I'lll try this tommorrow night or Monday. Thankyou,
Tom

I use interpolated first, then use random to touch up. And I found out last night if you go back and forth a few times it eventually will straighten out those few tough spots that just wont straighten out. And each time i do green convergence first then do over all(only if i have one trouble spot that is off on the green.

well the marquee conv. goes something like this, center rasters in Guided mech. set-up guide. This is actually not using the CVA but the deflection circuitry. Then you line up the left right edges of all 3. This puts the centers way off. Then you go through the Conv. using Interp. The first thing it does is align the centers but then as you go through Interpoltaed lt actually stretch R + B horizontally on the sides to line up on green. By doing this it will keep the raster centered as it was in step 1. The stretching of R + B is unavoidable because R + B are shooting at an angle, so depending on throw (toe-in) it will have to stretch them different amounts based on distance from screen.
One thing that's important and I assume Curt would have done is matching raster widths both Vertically and Horizontally before any Conv. is applied. Both Random access and Guided are good for touch up after the first time.

Hello
Lineqrity correction will throw centering off, so redo your centering and toe-inagain and you should be okay.
