I'm sorry to see that,Crying or Very sad I had a G70 that did exactly that to All 3 tubes and I'm not sure why but I think it was a GB power board failure maybe? Your lucky because a Red tube should be easy to find and cheap. hopefully curt has some better advice
how many hours on machine?

I would run the set on and off for about 100 hours before changing the tube. That damage almost always happens at turnoff, so make sure you don't get a bright dot in the middle of the screen when turning the set off. If you do, find the cause of the problem before changing tubes. I believe I do have a good red tube here.

Oh, a short within the tube can cause that, or a bad PA board, CRT neck board, power supply, etc, etc.

Ahmmm i forgot to say that before it happened the red tube turned on and off and tayed off while i turned the CRT P. on.
Suddenly after 20 min while i turned the CRT p. on everything was ok until the red tube gone dead. I can remember that if i shuted the CRT P. down i could see a red point poping in the middle of the tube ( in that time where the red tube didnt turned on).

How much do you want for your red tube curt ?
And can i use the G70 without fear ?

Many many thx

So i can say the cause of my problem is not the tube !! because...hmmm how can i explain it in english Mr. Green

I mounted the G70 so that the top is on the underside like ceiling mount but on the ground.
After that i got that problem with my red tube.
Now while i turned back the G70 everything is ok but with the damage on the phosphor. Anybody know what problem there was ?? Probably the preassure on the chassis ??
