I'm a bit of a CRT noob. I was recently given an NEC PG-6200. So far it seems to be operational, but the image seems excessively bowed on the top and bottom.

This is what the green raster looks like with all the electronic settings zeroed out:

Even with the vertical pincushion at 100% it still looks like this:

The red and blue look about the same. Is it normal for there to be so much bowing? Is there anything I can do to straighten the top and bottom edges? I had a PG-6100 a few years ago, and I don't remember having this much trouble getting a square image. Am I missing something obvious, or is there a reason I got this projector for free? Thanks.

You mean the plugs that set whether the projector is floor/ceiling mount, front/rear projection? Yes, those are oriented properly.

Check the 6 yoke connectors on the C board underneath the deflection board. I'll bet the yellow/brown ones are backwards. Smile

Yes! Thank you. I had fixed the plugs on top of the deflection board, but somehow completely overlooked that I needed to fix the ones underneath. The red/blue ones were backwards too.
