Ok I am not sure if the magnetic gauss of the G70 coils is strong enough even after you rewind them. best thing to do is to put the focus coils on with no cable connected and move it back and forth for best focus, if possible. if it does not give a decent center focus with no electronics it might be too weak of a magnet.
There can be some fuzz around the grid but not too much.

here is a thread on using different focus coils on the marquee. I thing the best magnets are the Barco 1208 and the best winding is from a sony 1292, mix the two and you will have a good focus coil. or do as I did and rewind the coils to the marquee specs. here is a post on it.
