My samsung tuner stopped pulling program information a few weeks ago. On every channel it just displays "regular schedule". Does anyone have a fix for this?

I believe you mean a SIR-TS360.
Anyways, more info is required. What signals? Sat, OTA, cable. Have you also tried the video input? Which are working and which are not?

Oh, have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes?
Also is it unlocked?

Oh sorry for the typo. I'm watching tv OTA only. There are no reception problems or other changes in functioning, just can't get the program info when i call up the info header or the guide. I'll try unplugging it. I'm not sure what you mean by trying the video input or if it is unlocked, but I get reception just fine and watch it every night. I just don't have the convenience of having the program name and description at my fingertips anymore.

I wasn't sure of exactly what your problem was, meaning I didn't know if you had any picture. But now that I'm clear on what your problem is then try unplugging it like I said. If that doesn't cure it then its possible you may need a firmware update. The process the OTA channels use to send their data may have changed slightly and would then require a firmware update. the only problem is the only way to get an update is via sat.. You may be able to contact Directv about this even if you dont have a subscription.

How could they change the guide info? That would effect all the STB's out there. The OTA ones don't have updates for them.

First let me say that he may just need a reboot to resolve his problem.
Now Directv did not make these receivers just so people could get OTA HD without a subscription. They were made because of the issue of locals not being available via sat subscription if they could receive them OTA. Good old laws again.
Now with that being said, do you think Directv would give out receivers that cost them money to manufacturer and then have people just use them for OTA and not pay for a subscription? They dont make any money off OTA.
So you say what does that have to do with this. Well lets say that in the firmware code it occasionally checks to see if there is a sat signal. If the signal is not confirmed then it could be coded to turn off certain features. You would think well why not turn off OTA reception? Well the law may not allow that. There are laws surrounding all kinds of coding issues, believe it or not.
So a simple line of code from the satellite to the receiver would keep the OTA guide active. All sat receivers are updated via satellite. Or Jtag.
I'm not saying this is gospel here but this is how these things work. Take this from someone who use to recode sat boxes regularly....

That sounds contrived, sneaky and low handed. That would be something a p o l i t i c i a n would come up with.
There fore it's probably true.

That was easy enough. I unplugged it and when I turned it back on yesterday morning all program info was available. I guess this is one of those "check the gas before you bring your lawnmower to the repair shop" scenarios. Thanks Macgyver, You Da Man!

The sound output quit on my SA8300 HDDVR the other day. After about an hour of cable swapping and head scratching I rebooted it.
Problem cured.
