My 9 month old video card in a htpc failed & tech support says it's defective. I need a card that will play blu-ray on a 2nd display, a 2002 analog HDTV that only does hi-def thru 1080i component.

Wrong forum. You need to be in the HTPC forum. I'll move it for you.

I think you are asking multiple questions that you may not know you are asking. Could you give a break down of your equipment?

I've rma'ed a Radeon HD 4870 1GB with the hope it'll be replaced under warranty. I'm not hopeful cause it was modded & I couldn't return it in pristine original condition. That's why I'm looking for a video card rec. My principal monitor is a 24" LCD (Dell 2408WFP). The main purpose of my question is to find a card capable of outputting a 1920 x 1080i component signal to my hdtv. It's component inputs are limited to 480p or 1080i. Would a 2 card solution be possible?
I don't think I originally posted to the wrong form as the Radeon Graphics form is quite pertinent to the answer/recommendation I'm looking for. My board & cpu are AMD. Even the nVidia form might be pertinent cause 1 of these 2 players dominate & if there is an answer, it's either here or there.

Any AMD or Nvidia card will do what you want I think.
As long as it comes with a component dongle.
I run 1080i 96hz via an AMD card to the CRT projector, and 1080i 72hz via a Nvidia card to the TV - both are running VGA.

Hi Kaal,
You originaly posted this in the wrong sub forum. I think you had it posted in the CRT projectors main forum. That's why I moved it here.
If you have this question posted on other forums such as ATi and Nvidia then I wouldn't have any way of knowing. I was just referring to the sub forum you posted in here on curtpalme.com

You may need AnyDVD HD depending on which version of Winblows you have.
