Hi,
My apologies, I have no pictures as such to help in this query other than those in the Tech Bulletin.

VDC Tech Bulletin TFB003 http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/ElectrohomeMarqueeTechnicalBulletin_VDCDS_TFB_003.pdf (this is to eliminate ringing and prevent high voltage shutdown during lowbeam current) refers. (NOTE - this mod does not apply to an 03 VIM. )

Its the very last page that has the relevent details and where my query lies. The TFB states that the three SD101A diodes need to be attached to the ground at P4. Unfortunately the photo's in the bulletin are somewhat less than clear but it looks as if the diodes are attached to pad 4. However, looking at the VIM schematics, Ground is shown as being pad 3 if I'm reading it correctly!

Anyone able to clarify which pad the diodes attach to?

EDIT - Ah, a light bulb just appeared above my head - the diodes are attached to pad 7 which is four pads in from the left-side - I'd taken that to be pad 4 as I presumed the left-most pad to be pad one, its actually pad 10 I think - doh!

Thanks guys,

Oh bugger!

I was just going ove my work on the VIM and I think that I have soldered in the diodes the wrong way round - anyone able to confirm this?

I think the black band indicating the cathode end should be nearest pin 7 - I have them with the band furthest away.
