I worked on a member's modded focus board today. Problem was, one of the 14 pin opamp chips had been replaced once already, and it's inevitable that one of the tiny PC board traces lifts up when you pull the chip legs out. (Barco has better laid out PC boards!), so sure enough, when I cut the shorted chip out a second time, no less than 6 pads lifted. This included the two that the last guy lifted and had to rewire..Sad

I was ultra careful when pulling the two other chips (customer wanted all op amps matched), so I too had jumper wires in place to get all the Pc traces back to the chip. Had it not been for the extensive mods to the board, I would have simply swapped it out for another one.

jut to clarify, NOT my work Wink
the FCM is a bitch though, those 6 little 22 uf caps under the heat-sink are very difficult to replace cleanly. For some reason the traces on this board are not as robust as the others.

No, the cap mods were done fine, but I agree, the traces on the FCM are overly thin. It doesn't help when the chips die, they overheat some of the platethrough holes.
