Hi All,
My Barco is dark. I fired it up for the first time in about 3 years, and to my delight it came alive with a nicely converged picture. That lasted about 15 minutes or so. At that point it went black. the problem is power. there is power to the projector, and I have checked the 2 10 amp fuses in the voltage select board, and the 250ma fuse in the board next to the H/V board. All appear good, but the 250ma reads 4 ohms on a Fluke DVM, which seems high to me, but it's not open. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jeff

Probably a High Voltage issue. Do you have the red EHT Hold Down LED on, on the EHT board? (located next to the quadrupler)

Check the LEDs on the G2 board to see if the scan fail is on, and check the red LEd on the EHT board. The main site area covers where those are located. Since you're fairly local, I can repair the boards.

Hi Gentlemen,
Sorry for the delayed reply, had to go to work for a few days.
Actually I have no led's at all. As I said in the title, it's a retro so the line goes to the front panel switch first, then to the PJ. The front panel switch is working as the PJ power cord switches as it should, however neither the front panel standby/on led lites or the PJ power led lites, and there are no leds lit on any boards. Any thoughts or troubleshooting steps?
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks Ile,
It is indeed an open 3A fuse on the SMPS. I will replace it once and if it opens again I will send to Curt for repair. It is painfully obvious to me that if I had been more familiar with Curts' site I could have gotten this far without troubling you folks, but it is most reassuring to know that there is a huge knowledge base out there if I need it. Thank you all very much.
Jeff

If it blows again, there may be more at fault than just the SMPS, but let us know. Sometimes the fuses do blow for no reason. If I don't reply, then PM or email me, as sometimes I miss some posts here.

Hi Again,
I changed the 3A fuse in the SMPS and it opened again. Curt you indicated that the problem may not be in the power supply. Should I start pulling boards and trying it without particular boards, and if so which boards are most likely culprits? Also, am I going to create more problems if I stress this P/S multiple times?
Thanks,
Jeff

No, start with the SMPS repair. Don't keep putting in fuses, THAT will make the existing problem worse. Shoot me an email. Are you in Seattle?

Curt,
Sent you an e-mail. I live about 50 miles north of Seattle. You've been here before. Let me know how to get my board repaired, or exchanged for a good one. Thanks
Jeff
