Funny I never knew that the '80's show with Stacy Keach was a remake of the 1950's show withe Darren McGavin ( the father from "A Christmas story" )

I'm just watching it on RTN.

Anyone else remember this show?

I didn't know it was a remake either. But when i read the thread title i was thinking Darren Mcgavin was the love boat captain.

I'm not batting good today.
