A couple of weeks ago I sent in an email blasting one of my local PBS stations. I was watching an epispde of Nova's scienceNOW and this station took the 16:9 ATSC formatted DTV brodcast and chopped off 25% from the sides to force-fit it to a 4:3 ATSC format.

I explained to them they were doing a big disservice to their viewing constituents, including those that donate to to PBS in Georgia. So, this week comes around and this week's episode appears to be even worse. Instead of a digital-source 16:9 content hitting the chopping block, they presented what appeared to be a a D-->A conversion, chopped 25% off to fit a 4:3 ATSC format, and then stretched it out to 16:9.

Seriously, I am not sure these ******** could do a worse job. They seriously want to get rid of all of their viewers, including those that donate. I cannot conceive a reason for stealing an FCC ATSC license for DTV operation and then deliberately seek out an operation to present an anti-DTV presentation for content done digitally in 16:9 format.

These mother f-ers seriously must be the old, dumb, redneck, chronies that are truly upset at having to get rid of those 30 year old boob-tubes. And they cannot claim tight budget conditions as they still have the quarterly begger's month in which they air nothing but self-help infomercials in perfect ATSC digital 16:9 format.

Nice job, dickheads!
