I just obtained an EyeOne display2 calibration unit and the Calman software. I didn't find any information on how the backlight setting on a LCD television set affects the calibration process. How should one set it prior to adjusting the brightness and contrast settings?
I performed an initial calibration using the GetGray DVD in my Bluray player connected to my television using an HDMI cable. Are the results applicable to any DVD/Bluray player connected via HDMI or are the results specific to the combination of player and HDMI input used? i.e. do the specific electronics in the player affect the results?
If the calibration is specific to the player/input combination how would one achieve calibration results for a Uverse box hooked up via a HDMI cable since the grayscale patterns are available on a DVD or computer and I don't see how they can be fed through the Uverse box to the television?
Thank you for any feedback you could provide. Sorry if these questions have been already answered, I looked for quite awhile, but didn't find them posted before.
