I was just about to support the forum by buying a couple of movies then I noticed the bottom line:

Items: $45.98
Shipping & Handling: $10.97
Total Before Tax: $56.95
Estimated Tax:* $0.00
Import Fees Deposit$6.24
$6.24?! All this shite ships from Mississauga. Next door to Toronto. WTF?

I think more and more stuff's coming out of the US, or at least you're buying from the US so you're supposed to pay this. Think of it as GST and PST. The fact that for years we were able to get stuff from Amazon.com shipped to Canada and not pay any taxes whatsoever since it was shipped from here wasn't right.
It's also been on again, off again. Google "Amazon Import Fees Deposit"
