I was hesitant in bidding as things have slowed down a bit, and heck, with 104 degree weather here, us Vancouverites are dead slow in getting things done as well. But, at that price... I had to have it.
I will do a full report to see how it works on dead tubes. I've been saving some here with low emission just in case I ever got one of these units.

Sin up for a Sencore FTP account. They have an online database of tube parameters thats' far more up to date than the published books.

How do the different Sencores stack up? I've always wanted to get one to try juicing some dead tubes but I don't know what I need.

So what can you do with one anyway? some sort of testing device right?

CR-70 (which I've got) and CR-7000 are CRT rejuvenators... They allow you to selectively overheat the cathode heater and over-current the cathode in order to cook off contamination. They typically also are able to discharge a capacitor thru the cathode, heater, or grids in order to blast a short circuit.
My CR-70 has proven able to save seven of the nine tubes I've used it on.

Good info - I take it that they could probably do nothing for the common Marquee tube fried by heater overvoltage?

THat's what I want to find out. I've had several B&K testers, and while they worked great for most CRT TV tubes, I never got one to work properly with projection tubes. A Heathkit one that a buddy built years ago didn't work nearly as well as the B&K, and the 7000 is supposed to be the cat's ass over any other tester. There's one more 'cheapie' on eBay right now, and two that people want the $1500+ for that these normally sell for.

So you can take a tube that rates at 5 or 6 and get it up to 8 or 9 again with this equipment?

No, rating a tube at a 5 or 6 has to do with phosphor wear. We're only talking about emission here.
In other words (I think/hope) that a tube that needs a G2 setting of 80 on a Marquee should be able to drop down to a 'normal' 60-65 or so. If the phosphor is worn, nothing short of a new tube will repair that.

It should be interesting to see what you think but you will need the universal adapter with color coded and labeled pins or make your own adapter depending on the tube type.

Really?? I thought "cooked" cathodes were just worn out, whereas rejuvenators like the Sencore were more for burning off some kind of impurities on the cathode.
So this might be able to resurrect P14-cooked tubes?

The rejuvenator can make tubes with secondary emmisions (won't cut-off to black) work right again.

Unlikely; the problem stems from a plating boiled off the cathode, but no harm in trying one.
