I guess the screen captures won't let Gary disappear so easily.

I subscribed at AVS just to see how long that thread lasts, before it disappears

I like his threats over at avs. He is the one with no money. Taking him to court will prove nothing, and he'll still sit there and threaten me and others. It would be fun to go to avs and rile him up, but he's already outed himself, sparing me the aggravation. Gary, since you're reading this here as well, you're a dirtbag pussy punkass bitch.

Perhaps someone should threaten AVS for aiding and abetting.

I have no idea why they protect that piece of sh*t over there. It's definitely sad.

Well, we just need to keep renewing this thread every few months. The die hards here know all about Gary, but there's always new people to be scammed, sadly. Seems his latest ebay profile also scams people that are into bowling...

Wow, I just glanced at the thread. Ruben was absent from Cedia '11 (not a big deal) and had been laying low, but I was unaware that he had sunk this low. At Cedia '10, Cineramax took a video of me praising his new 4k screen and it can be seen on that thread.I thought it was an excellent AT screen and would have easily replaced a regular screen with one (disposable income notwithstanding of course). I really thought he had a breakthrough product that should have taken the market by storm. I guess it didn't and this is the end result.

Admittedly, the next year at Cedia '11 Seymour had a 4k screen that was equally impressive. It only has one downside and that is the gain is around .8 or so.

Wow, that's crazy, I had no idea that SmX was tanking. Very sad to hear multiple people out thousands and thousands of dollars each to that company with nothing to show. Also too bad because SmX seemed to produce a good product, albeit at a very premium price point. I know Ruben pissed off a decent segment of the AVS DIY crowd when he started SmX; he had claimed he was doing research so he could deliver a cheap DIY AT fabric and that he was NOT looking to start a company. Once he got the fabric worked out, he turned tail and started up SmX, refusing to sell the fabric only - you had to drop some serious coin on a complete screen. Anyways, I hope those people get their money back - looks like one of them is organizing a criminal suit against Ruben over on AVS.

Scroll down to Kentucky. Although I'm sure the contact info is well out of date.

Anyone know how AVS is doing? they were the biggest forum for years for A/V, but I believe the company has been sold, at least Alan's side of it. I really don't go there at all save for twice a week to check the CRT forum which is dead, but I'd be curious if they are still in the top 5 of AV forums worldwide.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against AVS, if it weren't for that site, I wouldn't be here.

Are you asking about it as a company or from a user standpoint?
