Exactly! That was pretty much my point! Wink

I don't know about a nut job (that REALLY opens a can of worms), but clearly he has some serious issues with maturity, honesty, and integrity; in fact, he's clearly lacking all three.

Palin....

EXACTLY were did you read these polls?!?!? nazimoron.com?

Other than polls that constrain it to party affliation, she's never been close. She polls VERY high with racists and religious nut jobs (the kind that were shouting to kill Obama at her rallies), but pretty low with the general public. Obama has just dropped under 50% for the first time and that is not in general, that is only on "handling of healthcare" (he is polling with a 49% approve now).

Really Ron, you have got to some day figure out Fox news is lying to you and treating you like an idiot!

In a way, I feel sorry for her, she is just a stupid person that got thrust into something she will never be able to handle. But then again, I don't feel sorry for her because how in the f*ck can you run for VP in 2008 and NOT know what the "Bush Doctrine" is?!?!? But then again, she is too stupid to know she is stupid, so I feel sorry for her again....

But yes, I agree with the sentiment this is why I stopped coming here: Ron. Intellectually, I know there are racists, and bigots, and uniformed people all over the place--but I don't want it slammed in my face at a home theater site--this is for escapism!!!

There's the Dave we know and love! If you disagree on anything political with Dave, he reverts to his standard cut/paste labels: You're automatically a racist, bigot, homophobe (you forgot that one above), and uninformed. Right, Dave. Got it.

You know, I actually enjoy having you back around here when you're not talking politics. When you do get into politics, though you just parrot the same bull**** answer you just repeated - as usual - while all the rest of us try to have a conversation, Ron included. Save it, will ya?

I agree with Dave, you're smoking crack on this one Ron.

E.g.: The Rasmussen Reports did a poll for the 2012 pres. election: Obama 40%, Romney 39%, Palin 14% in a 3-way race. That's hardly "matching" Obama. In a 2-way race, Obama beats Palin 48% to 42%. Not a huge difference, but the same margin was enough for Obama to beat McCain (53% to 46%). Rasmussen also says Palin is tied to be the "candidate I most hope doesn't get the nomination" -- among Republicans.

US News asked voters what Palin should do now that she's "retiring." Just 13% said she should run for pres in 2012.

No, he's not smoking crack... You guys aren't paying attention. Ron was talking about APPROVAL RATINGS. That would compare Alaska voters' support for Sarah Palin to US voters' support for Obama. We're not talking about likely voters if there were a presidential election!

Oh, and I'd also like to point out that while Obama's approval is below 50%, the more interesting story to me is that the latest Rasmussen poll says 34% of those polled "strongly disapprove" compared to the 29% who "strongly approve", giving him a -5 index; that's actually better than in recent weeks when he was at -8 or so.

As for the Nazi comment, do you think maybe Ron might have been referring to actual polls - just like those used to assess constituent support for Obama, Dave? Here's an article in what is no doubt one of your favorite publications:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/akmuckraker/sarah-palins-approval-rat_b_198658.html

If you compare the numbers from May, they would have been around the same - the index would have been around +6. Obviously, a lot has happened since then - public opinion of both has weakened, but it doesn't really matter since Sarah Palin resigned now, does it?

Funny John! Looking forward to seeing you again at William's meet this year dude.

Since this discussion is all over the place right now anyway, did anybody pick up Watchmen on Blu Ray today? I got it during lunch and also picked up Coraline with the 3-D glasses. Thumbs Up

Watchmen should be here from Amazon tomorrow! I didn't even know Coraline was out already - Cool! It looks awesome. Definitely be picking that up. I love Tim Burton and Tim Burton-style stop-frame. Especially now that they're shooting it on DSLR - it's phenomenally gorgeous.

You mean that Ampro is still running? I hope you at least open it up once in a while to blow the dust out. Laughing

Twice a year I pop it open and blow it out with my rechargeable leaf blower. That's all it takes to keep it running smooth.
I know when it's time to do it by checking it's system and power supply temps on screen. Of course you have to have a AmPro to do that. What other projector monitors the temps and puts them on screen? That's how bad AmPro sucks Wink

You left out the part where the rest of the time, the leaf blower is directed at the power supply to keep it cool enough to run through a movie. Mr. Green

I dont get it. I think in all the years I've had these Ampro's, I've only popped a power supply once. And after I put in the newer replacement mosfet's they've been running since. Confused
