Both. I don't think we could find out how AVS is doing financially, I'm just really curious about the stats.

This website forum has over 10K members, but most were 1 time users for Fury support. So I can go around bragging that the site has over 10K members, which all sounds great, but the actual reality is somewhat different. Smile

To me; its improved a lot as far as speaking of digitals and there (to me) is a lot less posting of my penis is a lot larger than yours when speaking of equipment. It seems more people are posting about the actual science of the image and sound. I like it over there, but I love reading the posts here.

I would second that , More like a bragging rights site. and a lot of wishy washy info, that you cant trust.
I would say I feel a lot dumber over here thou. I think the majority of the people on this site have a major degree electronics,or a field very simalare. Me I only garaduated fro high school . I love electronics ,video and audio. I have learned a lot from you guys and for this I'm truly thankful.

I think forum and sales are two separate companies.

I only go to a couple of select sub-forums. Not sure what their rank is. I am to sick to go to Alexa.

Yep that would be correct. Alan Rocks. Bott, well, he's Bott Smile

Although I will admit, my visit with Mr. Bott was a nice visit.

I actually miss it in a big way because we all used to be there for the most part. Thumbs Up

Kal did IP-ban him, but unless Kal banned a whole range, the ban is easy enough to get around if Gary really wanted to. From just using a mobile device on a cellular provider, to surfing at work, a friend's, or family member's home, an IP ban is pretty easy to get around. If he really wanted to be here, he could be. I'd imagine he's lurked, but just doesn't post. He may have gotten smart enough to realize that he wasn't doing himself any favors whenever he posted.

I went and looked at the IPs I had banned and when doing a reverse lookup, none of them are owned by american ISPs. I had a couple in China, one in Nigeria, and couple of others. I could have sworn we IP banned him but maybe not. I also don't have his name banned.

I'm really not a fan on IP banning to begin with however as it's pretty useless: Everyone connects via an ISP that owns a range of IPs, so every 2-4 days your IP changes. Specific IP bans are only useful to stop someone from posting RIGHT THEN AND THERE and only for few days, and only if they don't know how to release/renew their IP (really easy to do).

If you ban entire ranges then you may block someone else at the ISP. Not a good idea.

I've actually now gone and removed the half dozen IP bans I had listed.

Kal
