I've re-installed all the relevant tools (all the paths to eac3to, Bsup2sub, MKVmerge are correct), so I'm not too sure what's going on. I've been able to use TSmuxer and MKVmerge to complete the process manually, but I quite liked using this tool.

I'm using the latest version of the tool on win 7 x64.

Any ideas?

Does the user you are running with have administrative privileges?

When I do the forced subs, the subs are created with a light blue border, is there a way to leave the sup as the original without modifying the look of the subtitle?

Odd. Have you tried loading the SUP into BDSup2Sub and manually creating a SUB/IDX to see whether the same thing happens? The conversion process often causes aliasing, but it shouldn't add a border.

Apparently, the next version of the program will support PGS subs directly, so you will be able to add the PGS sub to your remux without any modification.

It only does it to PGS subs (forced graphical subs).

I've tested five movies, Avatar and District 9 both have the same light blue border outcome. If you open the sub file in bdsuptosub it shows the nice pgs graphical. If you try to export it to sup and then tsmuxer later, the subs themselves don't even come on when they are supposed to.

I want to have the original subs included on the BD not an srt recreate.

I get the original subs, using another gui as is, and playback with directvobsub.

Avatar is yellow "Navi" font. No funny border.

What player are you using?

Here is what Avatar looks like playing on MPC-HC, with subtitles coverted with bdsup2sub. PGS are in the works.

Which other gui do you use that keeps the original pgs file.

I play the mkv directly in MPC with the blue border, I use AVS video encoder to encode to wmv for my xbox 360 and in the edit, it displays the pgs (subtitle) with the border as well.

I convereted to sup using BDSup2Sub.

I also tried using TsMuxerR GUI 1.10.6 adding the mpls playlist, removing the pgs embedded with all the subtitles, importing the sup file I created. MPC doesn't show the subtitle or AVS video encoder.

Does TsMuxerR not import converted sup files correctly?

Do I have the settings incorrectly with this Another EAC3 or is there a different easier solution like this one?

Another eac3to GUI runs eac3to to demux and MKVMerge to merge. If you want to manually create an MKV, use the command line option to demux, and you and use MKVMerge GUI to create an MKV with the original video, audio, and PGS subs.

I reset all the settings and it converted the subtitle just fine to the mkv file like the screenshot.

I appreciate your help guys.

It looks like the problem is isolated to AVS video encoder. Now I need to find a program that is as easy and as AVS to encode to wmv from mkv files, any suggestions?

The whole point of this thread, is that Mike has written an all-in-one GUI to run all the operations to convet a BD/HD-DVD disc to a MKV file, with untouched video and subtitles, and a couple of simple audio options.

You are doing something completely different....

You are correct, I thought the issue was related to this program but I found it wasn't. This program works very well.

Thanks for your help guys.

Ahh, no. I used to on my previous install, but this time I've left UAC on. I'll try running with admin privileges tonight. Thumbs Up

UAC on should be ok...The first time you run it though you must approve eac3to to run. I think one way around this would be to put eac3to in the c:\Program Files\ACD\Another EAC3toGUI\ folder.

Interesting, there seems to be a difference between 32-Bit W7 and 64-Bit. I do run the app as an adminstrator without having the "Run As Administrator" checked in the shortcut. I'll have to look at why you 64-bit guys need to have the "Run As Administrator" checkbox set.

I don't see any means to just search this thread, and general search did not pick it up so.. the problem I am running into as I have with several other video tools, is that when you select a "default language" it assumes you are watching a film native to your country. IOW if I put English I'm probably watching an English language movie and I want forced subtitles in English. Trouble is, I watch mostly foreign films therefore I want the audio in one language, which varies, and the subs in English. When I try to run the program, it tells me it cannot detect the audio in the default language(because there is no English track) and to set it manually.

I have no clue how to do so and no guides I'm using take this into account. Let's say I have a movie with Swedish audio and I want full English subs. How do I proceed?

After it says that it could not find an appropriate audio track, click the command line button, select the language track you want (generally the first language track - usually DTS-HD MA or TrueHD) and then click OK to proceed.

If you want to extract the full lossless track, or want to convert to FLAC, choose the top track. If you want the AC3 or DTS core, choose the bottom track.

This "choose the track" part is the whole problem. I see no means to do so. When I click the command line button, the only reference is to the log file. There are no audio tracks shown. Probably because it didn't find any in the "default language."

This disc only has a foreign language audio track. There isn't any English audio. I'm assuming if I put "Swedish" for the default language, that will mess up the subtitles, since I want English subs. That's the dilemma I run into with all these tools. They assume the audio and subs you want are the same language. There should be a language setting for the preferred subs and another for the preferred audio.

Direct it to the folder or disk where the BD is located. Then click analyze. Add the main playlist to your queue with the "Add Batch" button. It will tell you that it couldn't find an appropriate audio track.

Now, select the playlist (usually the longest playlist, which is the top choice), and click the command line button. It will scan the playlist and show you a list of tracks. #1 will be the chapter list, #2 the video, and #3 the top audio choice. There should be two checkboxes for the audio - one for the lossless portion, and one for the AC3/DTS "core". Select the appropriate box and click OK.

This is a manual method of forcing the use of a selected audio track.

P.S.: I am doing this right now with Everlasting Moments, a film with a Swedish DTS-HD MA track and English subs.

Check the audio track of the native language of the movie. Here is an example of what you do on a movie that does not have an English audio track, this was Letters From Iwo Jimo. Leave the force caption checked, the movie will include full English Subs. Make sure you select only one audio track if you include more then one, it won't work.

If your having problems with "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo", a great swedish film BTW. This movie has a very odd playlist. The first two small files in the playlist have no audio track, Eac3to can't handle playlists such as this. What I did was manually demux the main movie file then manually create the subs with bdsup2sub and finally merge it all together with mkv merge. I'm considering ways of handling this in the GUI but haven't had the time to implement them yet.
