What was the manual you were able to buy? I'm pretty sure the RVP4010 has a 1271 in it.

well the setup of the controls seems to be the same as a 1271 but the boars layout isn't
i cant seem to find the voltage test point for setting the G2's as i know at lest one of them is out
thanks for pointing out that it may be a 1271 internally

That sucks, I hope you can get your money back. I've thrown out better tubes than that. Who was the rip off artist who sold you that bill of goods ?

Mate first of all, that tube is pretty bad, but at least its even enough you can use it, id have kept it cause its abit better than what youve got now!!

not in my experience, i have bought a few things from Curt, shipping wasnt bad at all, and very quick too. Im only about an hour or so away from where the original poster lives (im pretty much 1 hour from Brisbane airport in a northerly dirrection.)

Mate you really need to give this bloke a swift kick in the arse and tell him who is in charge there, i had to do the same thing with my mother a few months ago when i had CRT projectors spread all over the place in one of the rooms in her house.
Ive got a good mate (lives just out of Maleny) that has a 9PG+, it works fine, but i think from memory his tubes are all rooted pretty badly too. His 9PG Plain is in pretty top nic, very little wear on that one, throws a bloody marvelous picture too. I havent set mine up yet, but my tubes have zero visible wear. I should have my new place built soon, so ill be able to get the 9PG set up at long last.

Xtra, yes. +, no. From what I understand, the 6/9PG's and +'s use the same tubes and the 6/9 Xtra's share same tubes. The PG Xtra Green is also the same used the the XG series.

This sort of CRAP happens. I had a seller show me pictures of a new in the box tube he even quoted VDC new price (not what he sold it for). When it arrived the box appeared new but it was a used tube in the new box he got into some crap story about "as new" even though he advertised new. While we are are on it he is also an ebay trader "bulevardbikes" I think thats the spelling I can check if anyone wants to know but I would avoid this guy if he is offering CRTs.

ok here is his reply about the unit so i am guessing it is compatible with my unit but i think it may be better trying to fix it then put the tubes in my units
its funny thow the label dose not have a + or XTRA but the case has XTRA on it
what do you guys think? about it?
| Quote: | I just took a couple of shots of the back of the 9PG for you then..... The
cover on the chassis certainly says "9PG XTRA" (but obviously that can also
just be the cover) so I also took a grab of the serial plate for you... the
model is 9200G, and although I haven't been into it for a while I'm pretty
sure the "G" stands for graphics grade in the NEC range, aka the "XTRA"
model (which ultimately has the better lenses...)
In case it means anything I also just grabbed a couple of snaps of the lens
stickers for you which I'll also send.... from what the calibration guys
told me at the time, they are the XTRA lenses, and they also told me the
projector was in very good condition internally and it was an easy
calibration... I ran the projector for probably 5 hrs a week max over 5-6 years...
As mentioned in the ebay ad I ran it at 1280x720@72Hz on a HTPC which was
projecting onto a 120" screen from approx 3.5-4m on the ceiling bracket with
maybe 10-15% pitch and it produced the best picture on that screen I have
ever seen... even 1080p stuff scaled was beautiful.... that is the only
preset config on the PJ and the only resolution I ran it at...
But again as mentioned, it certainly has an issue and I suspect it might be
the input board as every CRT lights up in test mode, but the input does not
display correctly.... I did try some different input sources at the time as
well and it was the same on everything (although I only did RGBHV, not S-VID
etc..).... I suspect something is down on the unit somewhere, but if that is
fixed everything else will light up...
With the CRT's I'm not sure how to get those photos but if you have some
instructions I'll give it a go.. I was reluctant to remove the lenses but
from what I have read you need to do that to get the CRT pics, so I can give
that a go if you need them...
Cheers, Nick. |

PG9200 is an 'xtra' , pg9100 is a 'plus' and pg9000 is the plain version. The 'G' designation only means that it is 220-240V version.
