Extron RGB interface... an improvement over VGA->RGBHV?

I have a bead on a potentially cheap Extron VGA->RGBHV interface... right now I'm doing VGA->Gefen VGA extender->VGA-RGBHV cable. It works reasonably well, but I still suspect I'm losing something in the high frequencies.

Would running a short, high quality VGA cable to the Extron, and good cables from the Extron to the projector, be an improvement?

Not sure... but what I have found from other video type projects is that running good quality coax may be better. I'm about to do something similar but extend the BNC ends using 75Ohm RG6Q from the BNC connections to the projector (instead of extending the VGA).

I had (on my original setup) used about 20'-30' worth of VGA extenders, and while that seemed to work fine for 640x480, the projector would never stay sync'd to any higher resolution. Using a crappy VGA->RGBHV cable I have managed to get the projector sync'd to 1280x1024 (and all the resolutions inbetween) so I am guessing that the VGA extensions could have been my problem.
