Well, I have the same problem.

but if you want a really high scan rate (say 1080P 72/75 Hz) you really need short retrace , because there's not enough adjustment that can be done with the processor to place the picture to stay inside the Lumagen's
pixel clock limit.

also, when you use long retrace, the convergence on the convergence zone are way out of the screen


any other mods that can be applied so very little porch and sync settings have to be used to center the picture?

that's way beyond me but it will be intersting to see what effect those "super FET's" Dennis put on the HDM will have. Sounds like about $100. worth of parts which is cheap if the results are significant.
