In the late, great words of Jackie Gleason that is.
I did a service call today at a home foreclosure sale. The economy sucks as does life. I'm in the basement doing my HVAC thing when I notice a very large box and under all the dust and debris I see the Barco logo. All the time I'm doing my thing, that logo is burning it's image into my head. So I finish my thing and can't stand it anymore. I wipe off the box and it says "Cine 9". There's only one problem. It's still stapled onto a factory pallet, all the factory shipping tape is un-cut and I can't open it to inspect it. I go upstairs and talk to the person in charge. She's not even aware of the stuff in the basement but is sure it's of not much value. I inform her that there is one thing down there that I would be interested in and make a offer. She said she would have to investigate it first and I tell her not to take to long as it's a analog display and the whole country is going digital on Friday the 12th. About ten minutes later she came back with the news "SOLD".
So now it sits in the back of my work van for a total of................................................................................................

Well done! Of course photographic evidence is required, but that's freaking cool.

If you get a call about it, you weren't at that job, must have been another service guy... Wink

I have heard that it works well as a BD player. It's up-scaling of std def dvd is just OK and the remote is cheezy as typical of Momitsu. I liked my V880 until the drive broke wind. If you remember it was the original MP-1 modded player although others will take credit, it was my idea, my brainchild. Wink

Some day when I'm outta-a-job and pissed off enough, I'll figure out how to bypass HDCP and install RGBHV outs on a BD player. Assuming I don't get pissed off and go digital first. I have way to many WORKING AmPro's kicking around to do that Razz

Chip WTF is goin on?....Its not April fools day is it? Congrats if true! Smile

If he really got a Cine 9 for $750, there's no reason for him to buy a lottery ticket, 'cuz he done used up all his luck, I'd say!

Still waiting to see if this is a joke. Too damn good to be true... finding the holy grail of CRT projectors... one of the rarest models ever made... New in a crate in somebody's basement. It's like the story about the guy who finds an original <insert rare collectible automobile here> in a barn by the side of the road and buys it from the farmer (who is totally unaware of what it's worth) for pennies on the dollar...

Hmmm... I was thinking maybe the reason Chip hadn't been back here to answer was because he was out in the van making sweet love to his new toy, but then I checked his profile:

So, he rolled this hand grenade of a post into the forum, and then seemingly left... Only he's been back and isn't posting. Me thinks something smells fishy, here.

Yes, great deal indeed. But..

A Barco is only a AmPro with training wheels

Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green

Maybe Cine9 is with nice "bling bling" training wheels then. Question
