It finaly hit me. After years of no issues. AVG failed me. I got a trojan virus and a worm!
I just uninstalled AVG and installed AVAST, it's found the trojan and the worm. Maybe more now.
My Lap tops's down and it looks like my HTPC got sick too.
Here's the ironic part. The only place I can get to is here. Any other website I can see but a click on a link will go no where.
Alright which one of your propeller heads did it?
I'll be back when I get all this straitened out.

I use AVG on every machine I own. I update the defs every morning and scan immediately after the update. I've had no issues. What was the name of the trojan and the worm?

Wouldn't it be to any AV program's marketing advantage to claim it found at least 'something'? And how do you know AVAST didn't put it there?
Conspiracy Theory! Or not?
Seriously, without bugs like these the AV companies would have no purpose to exist. They MUST have a bug now and then or else you would have no need to be confident in AVAST over AVG.
And that picture may be a Canadian crab. LOL

Trojans:
JS: Packed BK
JS: Packed BG
JS: Fake AV-AH
JS: Zerolin-2
The worm was deleted in a previous scan.
I still haven't gotten it all. I'm going to put together a spare PC with AVAST and pull this hard drive and scan it useing the other PC.
Then I'll tackle the lap top and HTPC.

Got the new PC up and running. Now I just have to find my IDE to USB2 cable so I can fix the old PC.
The old PC got to the point where it would try to boot and just hang. Not good. I have a back up of the important stuff but it's over two weeks old.

Avira outperforms AVG and Avast: (http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/main-tests) I have used all three and Avira is tiny, invisible, and thorough as freeware gets.

You can use Trend Micro Housecall to do a remote, internet based scan too if you need a "second opinion" without actually installing any extra antivirus. I like to do that when I get a computer that is suspected of being infected...

Maximum PC always has great freeware on its monthly content cd's. I just installed Avria, also they have a program called Derappifier. I intend to try out that program on my laptop.
