Yeeeee Haaaaaa. The tube works perfectly. Static electronic focus seems to be in the same ball park as the originals. Image size and raster position is also real good. I need to mount a lens on it and point it at something to set the stig and flare.

Does any of the Wear show up on the tube face or do you thing you'll have to wait for it to be seen on the screen?

I only ran it for a couple of minutes with a internal test pattern, both dots and crosshatch. I will have to work on mounting the Marquee coupling to the chassis prior to installing a lens on it for balance reasons. Once the assembly is secure I need to get it up on a cart so It can shoot onto my screen. I'll set it up at 1080P 60 and feed it test patterns from DVE. My test pattern generator bit the big one. I'll not have a answer for you on the wear until I can put up a full field pattern.
Looking through the c-element, the tubes focus looks quite sharp and even across the tube face. Up on the screen will be the real test. Have you been told of how well these tubes resolve compared to the originals?

OK, due to problems with the main projectors green tube, the Thomas tube has been re-mounted in a AmPro housing for further testing. The silicone will be fully cured at lunch time today. After lunch I will fill it with coolant, slide on all the magnetics and pop it in. I know the tube and modded neck board works but I don't know how well it will pair up with the originals that remain. Should be interesting.

Yeeee Haaaaaa. It's alive. The Thomas used green pairs up well with the low hour red beside it but the blue is also low emission. I'm going to try to rejuvinate the blue this week.
The Thomas tube works great. I have not done stig and flare yet and it's off but still great focus. I think it's slightly sharper focus then the original. No snaps pops or funny noises. Very surprised at how quick I was able to rough it in.
I see no reason to think that you could not mix and match these with stock tubes. I do think that best results would be from a matched set though as quite a bit of geometery correction is needed to dial them in.
Sorry it took so long to post back. I've been shoveling $hit ooops I mean snow all day.

Awesome!!!! Glad to here its working. i bet once you get CPC magnets done and the final focusing it will be razor sharp.
I was told these were High Rez tubes and i see no reason not to think so. Just looking at the phosphor on these compared to the other tubes i have you can see how smooth they are.
Also so there wasn't that much wear on the one I sent you? Or at least not that noticeable?
Snow does suck, but living in MA you don't own a snow thrower?

"Snow does suck, but living in MA you don't own a snow thrower?"
Hell no. I have a one ton dually diesel extended cab with a 9" fisher plow. I still have to shovel the deck, pathways, My mothers house and snow drifts on the roof
Now the tube has been running constantly for over 24 hours with no real issues. I have noticed one small problem. There is some occasional streaking. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the card it's self compatibility with the tube or the mod.
I'm getting the itch to spring for a whole new set. (of tubes)

I live on a corner lot. I've had many cars and motorcycles cruise down my driveway confusing it with the side road on the other side of the house. At the end of the driveway is a concrete filled post with a basketball hoop/backboard attatched. It's been hit by one car and one bike.

On the mod( i havnt looked into my ampro yet) did you use jumper wires to get the right signals to the corresponding pins? and if so make sure that you use a nice thick and well insulated wire, and pot it near any other open pin or wire.
Especially the G2 wire, if you made a jumper for it it should be the same type of wire, its usually a very well insulated
and rated for 1kv at least. the heater wires can be normal 18-22 gauge . G1 should be a good quality also.
if you do get a new set they will need break in , the ones i have the spec sheets that came with them say they were only run for 24 hours.

Yeah, but how many passes does it take to clear the driveway with that TINY plow?
