I have a red tube here that came out of a 6PGX and it's a P16, so I think the "green tube only"rule is not really 100% accurate. I bet they just used up what E8508's they had in the 6PGX sets until they ran out.

No, the tube neck is too short in on the E8508 to be used in the Xtras. I've tried it. Epic fail. No focus.
