No you didn't hurt my feelings... Laughing

I just figured you'd rather Curts help......the only problem is Curt wont help to a component level, which I have to be careful also because of site edicate. I'm just trying to get you to the board with the problem. I assume you dont have electronic experience, correct?

As far as the connector I asked about, I dont have a 1270 in front of me so I need to get an idea of what you have. I only have diagrams, but with these alone I could fix your projector. I just need your info as to the connector layout. So now I believe that this board attaches to the CA(b) board and has 2 harnesses connected to it, 1 being an 11 wire harness and the other a 2 wire harness, correct? Then a 13 pin connector to the board, correct?

Hi
The top of the CF-2 board has 1 x 7 wire connecter going onto the DM Board,
Under the CF-2 board only 8 wires go on to the CA (B) Board.
Cheers

The AKB controls the black level, considering that circuit has been moused with it's most likely causing the problems. If the AKB is not sensing current during blanking the beam current will increase, causing the increased brightness, until the max beam current is detected and the system if forced to shut down.

It may be worth revisiting the modification to the AKB circuit, look for solder shorts, broken leads, pins half out of connectors, loose wire etc..

Hi
Because my blacks were gray i disabled the akb by adding a hard drive jumper to the two pins (CF2-3) to disable the akb I have since removed the pin.
I read about this procedure being done succsesfully on the 1270 (it is also in the 1270 manual) because it is the only way to do it, the 1252 72 ect. have it in the menu.
The CF-2 board looks like new but that does not mean it still maybe broken, right?.
Thanks

Ok, your 7 wire harness should have 11 point connection and your 8 wire harness should have 13 point connection. I'm just trying to be sure I'm looking at your board before giviing suggestion.

Now I would like to see that site you found this mod on and/or what manual you saw it in.
