|
Greetings all from Down Under.
I have a chance at purchasing boards from a Sony 1270 or 1272 for my 1252 to enable higher input frequencies and the greater convergence on set-up.
Can anyone tell me exactly which boards I need from a 1270/72 to place in my 1252.
Cheers,
Dave

Dave the boards from the 1270 are no use to you.
Regarding the 1272 can you get the whole machine it would be easier to change the tubes than swap all the required boards
Check the previous thread where it has been discussed.

Where in Australia are you located.

Thanks Halo.
I live in Adelaide.
Sadly, impossible to get a 1272 (at least at this stage). I have a couple of near new blue & green tubes to go into the projector today and was hoping to swap boards if possible to get me better input frequency and closer to Full HD.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi all.
Doing some research via the "Layout & Set-up Tips" for the Sony 125x/127x, it would appear that I need the DD & DE boards to make my 1252 a 1272.
As my Tube modification (installation of near new blue & green guns) wasn't done today as I'd originally planned, it seems that it would be smart to do the tubes and boards at the same time.
Comments from clever people please.
Cheers,
Dave

Dave as per the post I refered you to you will also require a suitable Y board.
This will only give you the 21 point convergance not the extra band width.

I'm sorry to say I don't think it's worth the bother.
There's PG Xtras on Ebay for a couple of hundred..tubes aren't fantastic, but they'd still run rings around a 127x/5x.
There's an 808 on Ebay too.
