William, our Gracious host is a PENGUINS FAN?!?!?!?!?

This wouldnt bother me if i wasnt a 20 yr, dyed in wool RED WINGS SUPPORTER!!!

I'm torn! How do i reconcile? How could such a good guy (william) be SOOOO misguided?!?!?

I hope i'm still invited?

Dear John; (Love opening a note with that.)

Of course you're still invited. You have a few mis-guided impulses (e.g., Red Wing supporter), but we members of the City of Champions are very very forgiving. OTOH, it is totally beyond me how we could have the best football team in the world, the best hockey team in the world, and the worst baseball team in the world. God evens things out. Smile

William

PS: Oh, by the way, the first thing we did yesterday was a video shoot out, between the first version Moome HDMI 1.1 Marquee video input card, the current Moome HDMI 1.3 Marquee video input card, and the HD Fury II. A blend is the perfect instrument to conduct such a video shootout, as you can use one candidate in the left projector, and a second candidate in the right projector, and directly compare 2 separate candidates on the same image at exactly the same time. Having the highest bandwidth video chain (in a Home Theater) on the planet doesn't hurt either.

The results: the unmodded Moome HDMI 1.3 Marquee video input cards were the softest. My MP modded Moome HDMI 1.1 Marquee video input cards were slightly sharper. The unmodded HD Fury II was obviously the sharpest, and as an added bonus, displayed the more vibrant primary and secondary colors. Last night I ordered my own standard issue HD Fury II, from the Curt Palme website, of course.

My old primary video path had been HDMI (actually DVI) from the Blendzilla to the MP modded Moome HDMI 1.1 Marquee video input cards, with RGBHV analog as the backup. As soon as I revieve my HD Fury II, my primary video path will be all HDMI sources fed to the HD Fury II, then RGBHV through the Blendzilla and on to the projectors. The all HDMI video path to the MP modded Mooome HDMI 1.1 Marqee video input cards will become the backup video path. Aren't leapfrogging technology improvements a wonderful thingee!!!

Hey William, got any pictures of this shootout or screenshots? This is interesting information and I'm thinking of mentioning it in a newsletter if you're ok with that. Can you provide more info on the setup/equipment used? (You mentioned the highest bandwidth video chain on planet earth). Any pictures of the blended setup I could use?

Kal

Dear Kal;

You must have missed the paragraph (in the same email you posted the PS from) about my attitude towards screenshots. Smile

Seriously, MP and I are working this month and next month, to get the Blend up to snuf for the October Meet. Once we are done, if I could get Clarence down, we could do some screenshots of my MP-mod'd Moome HDMI 1.1 input cards, my unmod'd Moome HDMI 1.3 input cards, and the HD Fury2. Problem is, MP has already mod'd the output filters on my Fury2, making it much sharper. If you want me to compare the 2 Moome input cards to an unmodified HD Fury2, you would have to send me a loaner.

Happy to do the comparison. I have no dog in this fight, no stock in either Moome or HD-Fury, and no vested interest in the outcome as I own them all.

William

Sure - ping me once to within a couple of weeks or so before the blend meet and we'll do just that. Best that you have the latest and greatest.

John,
That would be Mark Haflich(sp?). I believe he frequents AVS more than here. The funny thing is to listen to him and Mike Parker argue about CRT vs. Digital.

Cliffy announced in the 2009 East Coast Blend Meet thread on the other site that he's thinking of only retubing 6 CRTs. Oh the inhumanity!!! What about the other 3 CRTs? Are they second class citizens, without health insurance?

Also, in the above mentioned thread, Mark Halflich announced he will be at the Meet. So, John get ready make his re-acquaintance.

And Finally, John, our Steelers get to get back to kickin butt, starting tonight..................

I think the Steel are prepped for another good season. Another Ring???? Who knows.

As far as the Eagles, I think they feel they are being good corporate citizens.

You should check out Peter's clip of him endorsing the SuperKontrast, while his wife is trying to push him into going to the airport;-).
