I'm looking at page 65 of the manual and trying to find the "CRT fixing screws (gold)"
WTF are they? I see some black (allen?) screws in the position depicted on p. 65, but they are behind the panel that holds the CRTs in place... don't think I want to remove All 6 of those.
Nothing like the gold CRT Conversion adjust screws.
Any help highly appreciated.

They are screws that are often lost, they fix the flapping position after adjustment. Likely they got lost, you don't really need them.

The fixing screws have probably already been removed. There are 2 per lens for a total of 6. The flapping or scheimpflug adjustment is done by the screws showm on p67. I found a small ratchet with an extension & 8mm socket was much easier to work with tha the supplied tool.

Thanks! so I can just set the flapping adjustment with the V screw (or H if need be) and then just leave it that way? no need to find new 'fixing' screws to fasten it down?

The fixing screws are for transport ( when the unit is new) Not needed once it is in your house. You probably noticed the flapping screws are a little stiff. They won't move unless you mess with them again. If you need to transport the PJ or want to hang it, Take the lenses off (don't forget to disconnect the grounding wires first, and don't forget to re-connect them once the lenses are re-installed) I have found that the unit is 30-40lb lighter w/o the lenses. This stuff is all in the book. BTW; Getting a copy of Graham Johnson's CRT setup disc from this site is money well spent. Good Luck.
