|
|
Hey,
I am trying to connect my Macbook Pro via DVI to an three-cable component television screen to use as a second monitor.
I recently bought an HD FURY2, and connected to the screen via an DVI to HDMI cable plugged into the HDMI input in HDFURY2 - then out via the VGA to Component cable provided in the HDFURY2 box.
I get a fuzzy screen, off center, with odd colors.
I have tried switching the cables around to see if the R, G or B is wired in the wrong place, and that didn't work.
I have tried every setting inside the Mac OSX "display" panel , finding that only 720 x1280 and overscan modes produces any results, but it is still messed up as described above.
Tried HDFURY in both RGB and YUV modes, neither works.
I tested the HDFURY2 via VGA / RGB, and it works just fine.
Also tested my DVI to HDMI cable direct from laptop, which also works just fine.
Did I buy the wrong piece of hardware / cables? Or is there an obvious step I am missing here?
Thanks!

TV's are really picky with respect to timing, if you don't get it exactly right it looks horrible. Talking about horrible, do not expect a TV to look anything like a computer monitor, even at the same resolution and correct timing, the bandwidth of a TV is much worse than that of a computer monitor and a computer screen on a TV will always look fuzzy.
