I've been going back and forth on this BG808 that's located overseas, as I can't think of a solid cause for this problem. Cutting and pasting some dialogue that we've had. Pix attached.

The test of the test pattern also bends. Situation changes. When the power is on, no picture appears for about 2-3 mintues, and then bending picture appears for a few seconds not 2 minutes and resume normal.Thanks.

I'm guessing power supply, RGB board, H output board or focus/H shift board (not likely).

For this to act up like this for a couple of minutes, then curing itself makes me think power supply or H output board most likely?

I'm curious why you would think Horz or focus shift since the menu seems mostly fine other then some after affect.

Did you have him try reseating any boards, for example vert/sync, RGB input or RGB analog?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, the picture in the background is tearing but the menu is fine? I'm not sure about the video board on the 808 but on the 808s the menu data is inserted on the rgb switcher board, so if the menu appears fine then I would say it's on the RGB board butI'd have to look at the schematics to know for sure.

THere is some tearing of the menu, but not nearly as bad as the picture. I agree, it's most likely not the H shift board, but since the customer is overseas, if he is going to send me boards to repair, I wanted to cover every base.

I don't think he's reseated any board yet.

BTW, it's a BG808s. I've NEVER had an RGB switcher card go intermittent.

I've emailed him back to see if he can try a video or Svideo source and/or a different RGB source just to make sure it's not source related. I've also told him to monitor the +17 volt supply to see if the SMPS drifts over time.

This is why I suggested reseating. That could cause intermittent. If you have him send you boards, make sure you get the controller board also since you indicated the problem is also there with the test patterns.

Source 95 is just port 5 but with a different memory block. Pressing 9 before any of the standard inputs on a Barco allows you to create a separate memory block with different settings. Very handy, gor say do different 1080p configurations on the same input.

Shearing is likely to be a sync issue.
