I'd love to see the modifications, can you list them here for us DIY'ers? Thanks.

Not a chance. Greg as well as Mike and I make our living installing/doing mods/repairing CRT projectors. That's why he's selling the mod. Asking him to list the mods he does is like asking a mechanic for step by step instructions on how to repair your own car, or asking KFC for the 11 herbs and spices so you can make your own.
Sorry, that probably comes across as rude...

Heyyyy, that's my favorite chicken!
Although I haven't tried Izell's in Wa. state, apparently that's good southern deep fried stuff.

As far as fast food chicken, Popeyes is far and away better than KFC. However, neither can touch the chicken at a good soul food joint.
Isn't it funny how you can have similar debates about PJ mods and fried chicken.

JayCee's Southern fried Chicken.... Its my secret recipe..
Active time: 45 min Start to finish: 25 hr
For marinade
1 qt water
2 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons cayenne
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons white pepper
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
4 chicken breast halves, 4 thighs, and 4 drumsticks (all with skin and bones; 4 to 4 1/2 lb total)
For frying
About 12 cups vegetable oil
For dredging
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon white pepper
Marinate chicken: Whisk together all marinade ingredients in a large bowl.
Add chicken, making sure it is covered with marinade. Chill, covered, stirring twice, about 24 hours.
Dredge and fry chicken: Heat 2 inches oil in a wide 8- to 9 1/2-quart pot over moderately high heat until a deep-fat thermometer registers 365 to 375°F. (Our pot was 12 inches wide and 5 inches deep; if you don’t have that wide a pot, you can fry the chicken in two batches.)
Meanwhile, whisk together all dredging ingredients in a large bowl. Drain chicken, discarding marinade. Dredge each piece of chicken in seasoned flour and put on a large baking sheet. Let stand about 10 minutes.
Once you've done this, in this way... da' colonel will never get another dime from you.

We're pretty far away from 'soul food' country here in the Pacific NW, but Izells comes close apparently. Gotta try it one day.

No, it wasn't rude, I understand, but I figure it didn't hurt to ask!
It's funny though, I fix computers professionally and I always tell people exactly what I do and how with no secrets. They typically look at me and say, "nevermind, I'll just pay you to do it". Typically if someone is smart enough to fix it themselves they never would've paid me in the first place, so I didn't lose anything. I guess this is a different business.
Thanks for the secret chicken recipe!

this is definitely different. Crt Guys are mostly DIY ers, they are looking for a way to do it well and CHEAP. If Curt gave away all his knowlwdge and expertise here in the forum, even a non-tech guy like me would bust out a soldering iron and try it....

Really? That goes completely counter to every tech support line I've ever called. Pay $20-200 to just even talk to someone. Who usually doesn't know what the hell they are talking about.
But, let's say you wrote some subroutine that was a fix for say, umm,, Windows Vista. (grasping at straws here, I'm not a computer guy). Would you give that away for free, even though it took you 50 hours to write it?
No, I'm not trying to stir up crap here for argument's sake...

John is Right. Its Mike Parker's work that Inspired me to go that route myself and explore and research everything Electronics, theory, procedures, methods, tools etc. I have become addicted to it. I was always mechanically inclined but not an expert by any means at any one thing (except line cooking Right Jhon;) )
But if you look around and research there is much you can do to your PJ's that will , if not make them perform better but at least allow them to last longer.
Greg, Mike and Curt do this for the love of it but also a little compensation directed to their efforts is always a little bit of a motivating factor.

For sure. If I was a programmer I'd charge for software. If you put the time into developing something to sell, it's your product and you make the rules.
I guess I see Computer repair differently. Anyone can do it if you just put the time into doing the research, learning it, etc. All the info is out there somewhere on the net. Most people aren't willing to put the time into it. I'm not worried about "computer secrets" because it'll all change in a week anyways. I have people that call me and say "can you fix my computer? I think I have a virus." The first thing I do is give them a list of programs they can install and scan their computer to try and fix it themselves. Some do it and thank me, others bring the computer over and pay me to do it. I guess I could be secretive, but I think that turns people off and I would get alot less business.
Have a great day!

A Congolese friend of mine makes this and its good. Too spicy for my taste, but strangely, my Cambodian friends LOVE IT.
