I disconnected the 4 wire harness going to that PD board and every thing is the same. It display FC and unit shuts down immediately. I did notice that the red led ]D023] was not lighting up when the harness is disconnected, don't know would that would mean ? I can also hear a realay going on or off just a few moments after shutting itelf off.

I don't think Sud did anything worng by turning the Green G2 pot. the problem people think of with pot adjustment, set-shut down, and oscilliscopes are the color balance controls in this pic.

There's something else wrong with this machine, does anyone know what all the circuits are on the 15 volt line?

I'll give you everything the 15v line feeds in a little while. Not at manual PC right now.

Well I think the response on the +15v line is, what doesn't it feed. There are only a few boards that it does not.
As I think about this some more its a great possibility that the problem is on the video board. There is where the problem could of been originating from for the green raster. The 15v line feeds a 12v regulator which is what is used for G2 control. If there was a problem in that circuit causing no control over the green G2 it would of been straining the electronics. Lowering the G2 on the screen control would not cause the problem but running the machine further with an already problem in there, it would eventually have to let go. Now the problem could be somewhere else but based on the history, thats where I would look first.

At this point I would agree with Curt though. It needs to be gone over by a tech........

Could I now just pull the video board and sent that off for circuit testing ? What about installing another video board ? I also notice that the H deflection light stay on when powered on and stays lit until the unit shut itself off.

I merely said the video board was a possibility. The screen pwb is also involved. But since you have an H led on, you may have a deflection board problem and the FC is only coming up upon shutdown. I seem to remember having a PG+ that was giving an odd code and the problem was the deflection board. But its your dollar. You have to decide if you want to throw parts at it or spend your money with Curt and get it fixed. At this point nobody can give you an exact board to change. Testing needs to be done.

Talk to Curt and see what he thinks, but he probably wants the whole set. He could probably check and repair your deflection board if thats the problem and you would have to decide if you want to invest that.

There's your problem. It could be the system or wave board, a bad deflection board or bad power supply itself. I'd say send me all the above except for the power supply.

Bump. I got this set in for repairs, and found the following:

-green video output board (neck board) was streaking badly
-deflection board shot (intermittent H deflection), very strange issue, I replaced the board
-bad video driver board (behind CRT cards)
-bad video predriver board (behind video driver board)

Looking back, what I suspect happened is that the video driver board's green output went bad, causing excessive brightness to the green tube, which shut the set down. In all the Xtras I've worked on, runaway brightness was always caused by a bad neck board or shorted CRT, not a bad driver board.

Customer replaced the green CRT output board with another one, the replacement was bad, causing massive streaking on the video image.

Video predriver board had to be replaced as the white balance was way off with his predriver board and my replacement driver board.

While customer worked on the set, somehow the H deflection board died.

Set is now working fine after few hours worth of work.
