Did a little more work today finishing taking the rest of the tubes out. The pivot pins on a new PJ are tight!1 they probably would have held the tubes in place even i removed the top plate with out using the "help" rod idea Dragan came up with .
All tubes removed with a 9 inch bottom plate in place.
One problem with the set of plates I had was that it had a broken pin. I used a pin from a set of M8000 plates.
Pic of Broken pin
One more thing I realized is it will not be a drop in swap!!! I need to add red C elements to the red tubes!!!!

Yeah, as I dimly recall, when Mike and I pulled the 2 projectors down, we:
Upgraded the 8500 Ultra to a 9500 Ultra,
upgraded the 9500 to a 9500 Ultra,
added red c elements to the red CRTs,
swapped the red and blue CRTs on one of the projectors so that the blue CRTs were on the outside and the red CRTs were on the inside as you look at the projectors from the front as they are mounted on the ceiling,
replaced the green CRTs (as they had the most wear), and
may have replaced one or both blue CRTs.
It was good to get all this done at one time, instead of tearing apart the projectors multiple times.
On Thursday, Mike is coming over. We intend to pull out all 6 CRTs, remove the glycol, flush the chambers with 91% isopropyl alcohol, replace the glycol with a 90% glycol/10% distilled water mix, and re-install the CRTs. There is a fungus among us (actually a chemical reaction) that needs to be dealt with.
Need to get ready for football season. It's just around the corner!!!

Now you know how easy it is on a Sony or Barco every single time At least you won the Marquee celement lottery this time and they weren't glued in. You never know what you are gonna get on Marquee hardware!

Well I got a G90 so I am sure one day I'll find out. No Barco.........yet
Well here is the final stretch!!! All tubes in. Now I just have to remove the cage slice a bit of plastic off the Tube's plastic pin key for the 8 inch neck cards to fit( or cut the slot on the VNB to fit the tube) , Or I'll get lucky and maybe VDC made all VNBs the same in 2004.

Say Nash
For nine inch neckboards on eight inch tubes, then some plastic needs shaving.

Not sure those plates are Factory Spec!! I have a couple extra chassis here so I might put a marquee at my sisters house.

I sure hope that, as you are looking at the projector in the picture immediately above, that you are looking at the right projector in the blend (so that the blue CRT is on the outside and the red CRT is on the inside).
