It's easiest to work out your linearity issues by using a test pattern that is a simple corner-to-corner X pattern. Only when the linearity is correct, will the lines of the X be absolutely straight. View them from the corners, looking across the screen, to get them exactly right.
This simple test pattern can be made in two minutes in PAINT.

Thanks Jeremy!! It was great meeting the #1 Poster on Curtpalme.com!!!!
I need to figure out that linearity issue now, it has been bugging me all day while working.
Next time we'll have a few more people over. Hope your late night drive back went better than your drive up!!

Ok Guys, I have wanted to try 1920x800@96hz for a while.
I have each PJ set up for 1066x800@96.
In the pic of one on one off you can see which one is the 96 hz since i do not
have the peaking circuit dialed in its attenuating. Also i did not do a good job on
dialing it in on the right PJ for 72 hz either so that shows it a little bit off as well.
I also noticed my edge focus on the right PJ is off in the blend zone, more than it
was before. I will have to revisit Scheimflug.
But 96 is definitely smoother in pans. I like it! Now i want to try 120hz !!! I
looked at it with my resolution and at that rate it will still only be 150HZ pixel clock
Well within the bounds of the peaking circuit of the Vim.
1 on 1 off @ 72hz, this pattern falls in the blend zone so focus is not perfect here. Also
I need to dial it in on the right PJ....But might set everything up for 96 HZ instead.
here is 96hz, you can see the color shift of the vertical pattern.
This was a real quick convergence set up as well. I know i can do better.
you can see the verticals lines are not as well defined, the red is focused better
when i look at each color individually. This compared to the 72 hz shows how with
this peaking circuit you can only run one refresh rate.

Well The 9 inch conversion Begins!! no turning back now!!!!
After Cliff inspired me to finally turn on my G90 from it's 3 year slumber and it worked he then scolded me to get the tube swap going on the blend or find another G90!!! So I had the tubes I got from the Gov Liq sale and decided I had to get it going!!!
He told me to just leave the PJ's where they are and put in the 9 inch tubes if the PJ's need to be moved then I can always do it later. Right now the 8500's are only blasting on 1 feet of my 13.5 foot screen. So I might get lucky and not have to move the PJ's at all.
This will also allow me to flip the tubes on one PJ so it is not RGB but BGR and have a BGR RGB set up.
My only concern is if I need to extend the umbilical cords for the swap tubes in the One PJ. Tim? Curt?

Say Nash
The neckboard umbilicals you have are long enuff. The projectors may need to move back a bit, a twenty percent overlap might work better for you.
What nine inch lenses are you planning? GT17s do not focus closer than 99 inches.

I wanted to go from blue tube mother board to the the red tube side. But looking at the schematics there is nothing specific from the umbilical cord for each color, so just connecting the blue umbilical to the red tube wont matter, just the G2 wire and the mini RCA have to match on the video amp.
I have those HD10E(HFQ 900) lenses I got form you remember?
I am hoping for now I can still keep the PJ where they are. At least temporarily if they need to move back or out to the sides more I'll wait and just watch as is for a bit. I have no wear at all on my 8 inch tubes after about 600 hours of use so I am not worried.
Case, the old pics were in my Mobile me Gallery and Apple shut that down. I never transferred pics to another hosting site. One day I'll try to get them up, but remembering what pic goes where might prevent me from doing that.

Id want the two blues on the outside since focus for blue is not as important as focus for red and green. and the blend zone needs a good focus for red and green. So that is why I and a few other Blenders think it be better for blue to be on the outsides.
I am not sure if anyone has done this yet. maybe Boilermaker?

We did this 6 years ago when Mike Parker and I re-installed the Marque 9500 Ultras on the ceiling, and we did it for the reasons stated above. The only cables that have to be rerouted are the red and blue video cables from the VIM to the red and blue CRT neckboards.
