nope, better to just get another g90 and blend them. and I have 7 barcos and 2 sonys so i guess i am a "barco-guy"...but in my opinion a g90 beats a 909 in parts availability and price and doesnt really lose in pic quality..

Thanks for your opinions guys. I think Having LC will really help. Cliff saw my 8500 Blend and said the only blend he saw that had less issues was with the G90 blend he and clarence had years ago which is LC as well. So I think I will only improve going to LC.

And I agree that a G90 is slightly better than the barco. There is a Local G90 being used now near me and I am waiting for
his to go digital so if i am lucky he will offer it to me cheap Wink

at the moment I have 0 nine inch machines. just meant that the belgian is my fav brand and I wouldnt say no to a 1209s or 909 if one came along at the right price. but I still think sony is better and more sensible at this time, only thing really "wrong" with it is how it drives the tubes from factory, they wear too fast.

Before this becomes a Barco/Sony debate, how many have compared the 909 and G90 with the same lens/tubes combo? That is 90% of the picture. Craig says they are close but still prefers the G90.

The 10F lenses used on the G90 are the later generation and are really close to the 10E lenses, so that comparison is close already. The tubes in the Barco are LUG and the tubes in the G90 are LQF. LQF and LUG are litterally identical. So I would say that the jugs are about the same on both projectors when stock.

G90 always has the correct red celement and a light green celement. Barco could have all clear, just red, just dark green, or correct red and dark green. But if you have a Barco or Sony you should upgrade to correct colored elements and then the two jugs are pretty close with the only differences being the minor difference between the lenses.

You sure you don't want to do one at a time? That way you could use the right projector as a reference to align the 9" to, but also when you work with the new 9" you will be able to evaluate and look for any issues before you do the next projector.

It wont matter since I am going to go larger in size so the old set up wont be the same.

Maybe Cliff will send me the benQ so I can use it as a grid reference Wink

Ah, didn't realize you are increasing the screen size... I remember, it was so small before Wink

I suppose you could use any old cheap digital for a grid reference...

Hmmmmm, I just told my so called peer today that I am not working for the next week nice and last minute. I was due to leave for Phoenix this weekend but nope. I'm not going to even bother. I'm that pissed.

I should hop on the road after the weekend and bring that damn BenQ out to you. I could use a good VENT.

Not far. I worked all weekend had a sewer issue at my restaurant that had me there till 1 am last night then after work I decided to go hit 9 holes at the links.

But what I did notice is that even with the 9 inch tubes and HD10E's that the size really has not changed from what I can tell. I didn't turn on the other PJ to compare though. I thought id gain at least 3 inches on each side. And I really did not have much room on the tube face to make it larger by increasing size. But I have to go revisit this later tonight possibly.
