Can someone explain Gamma on the BarcoGraphics 1209s to me?

I've got a BG1209s and am interested in the internal gamma adjustment, there is no information I have found, has anyone had a play with this. I believe the G90 has this adjustment also.

It's not gamma like you're thinking its gamma, it isn't applied to the external source, its just a variability option for smoothing out the white balance curve when you're doing colorimetry. You shouldn't adjust it unless you have a colorimeter to measure the effect on your greyscale.

It is explained a little in the 808s Owners manual, I think I saw it there today, I'm sure it will be very similar to the gamma in your bigger machine.
