How to make KMP work with ICC profile and video adjustment on Control Panel? I tried many times but the content played in KMP window won't change and my desktop changes instead when I adjust the video card on the Control Panel.

You have to use a software decoder rather than something on board the video card - the hardware decoders spit the video 'straight to the monitor' as it were, so desktop gamma won't work. When I use KMP/MPCHC I use software codecs - you need a beefy machine for bluray, but it lets you run gamma and other stuff post-processing wise.

Also, you can't use the Overlay as the output renderer.

Do you think either of you guys with obvious experience doing what the OP asked could take a few minutes to write up a little "How to" to accomplish what the OP asked ?

I realize that someone *might* be able to figure it out with your answers about what NOT to do to make ICC profile and video adjustments work, but I for one have tried KMP, and while I really like the player, its very, very complicated, and not at all intuitive to setup/use. I've never seen any "how to" about how to best use it, so it sits pretty much unused on my desktop...

One thing that I personally would like to know is how to use EVR as the renderer. All I've ever seen on that subject is something like "make sure aero is turned on in VISTA". But I've never been able to "turn on" aero in VISTA, its either just on or its not, nothing I do affects this...

I have no idea how to use KMP.

But I do know a few things that won't work with any player, so I posted what I knew, that hadn't been covered already.

I try it and I can adjust the control items to affect the image played on KMP, but I still don't know how to include ICC file to work with. It seems not to work when I choose different ICC profile.
