They're flat panels. They dont take up much space. I store them side by side like books. 8 or 10 only equals 1 direct view tv...

The one that says it has a convergence issue should be if the seller is correct. The other one I cant say for sure. If I was definitely interested, I would email them for the model numbers, first.

I've got a mostly empty apartment and plenty of spare time over the next few months here in CO Springs. Unfortunately, I'm a greenhorn in the ways of troubleshooting such things. I did manage to fix my Dell 17" LCD that I'm currently using, but that was basically a matter of googling for an hour or so and ordering a new board. Still, I wouldn't mind giving something like this a go. Mac, if you hear of anything this way, shoot me a PM and I'll check it out. I've got trucks and even a forklift at my disposal at the office.

I think one thing you have to decide is, if your going to try to do this by just replacing boards or repairing to component level. You will always make more money by repairing at component level but it does take some skill. An example is that Dell monitor that you replaced the board in. I dont know what you paid for the board but I've repaired them displays and the parts are usually around 2 or 3 dollars.
Also you have to be able to put out some money up front. If your going to try doing this at board level, then you will have to buy some panels with broken screens for parts. I find it pretty easy to find non working ones at good prices but you still have to buy the broken ones and piece one together.
For me, I dont have to have extra boards because I can usually repair the ones I have. But I still end up with spares when I buy a whole bunch of panels at a time and some do have broken display panels. If you get the right info out there people will call you to buy their stuff. Ive still been getting more stuff, I just haven't posted it because it seemed like everyone was tired of hearing it.
But if you do decide to give it a try I'll be glad to help any way I can. Hey, if enough of us on here start dabbling in this, we could swap boards amongst ourselves.....

I already have 4 projectors and have turned down the opportunity to acquire more on quite a few occasions on other projectors......
Gotta go where the money is. Projectors = no, flat panels = yes .

Actually, I think right now I'm going to put my effort into finding a good deal on a local CRT RPTV to fix up. That's a bit more my speed. While I can see the attractiveness of finding and repairing inexpensive flat panels to sell, in reality I'm not going to have the time to do it right. Thanks for the feedback, though.

My guy from the ware house told me that about 2 weeks ago his boss bought an unknown number of tractor trailer loads of stuff from area circuit city's. May not arrive for a few weeks yet. he has no idea whats going to be in there but I'm now selling off what i have done and putting together some cash....

Kind of crazy when you think about it. Two tractor trailer loads from just a handful of stores in one area. Who ends up eating the cost of all those returns? It's great for guys like Mac obviously, but wow. I guess I had always assumed that the returns go back to the manufacturers.
