As some of you may have noticed, I've been on a celebratory calibration/setup kick since getting bluray.

Given some of the shots I got tonight, it seemed like a good time to look back at those first heady days of CRTdom, and where things are now...

So - in late summer 2007, I got my Barco g808s. At this point, I still had the old toasty tubes in, and this was the result of my absolute first setup:

A while down the road, thanks to a man known only as 'Deep Tube', I untoastified my 808. And after many months, and many dozens, if not hundreds, of calibrations, here we are:

I still have a way to go - my lenses can't handle 1920x1080, and my optical setup and porches are awful - resulting in convergence issues and corners less focused than a dumpster full of tribbles. But damn... patience (and maybe a tiny bit of help from some forum somewhere...) sure pays off!

Thumbs Up
