I'm really struggling getting my Ampro 3600 set up - just seems a bit more counter-intuitive than the Barco I'm used to...Anyone have any tips or links to some basic setup procedures? Can't seem to find any anywhere...

For example, I've somehow managed to shut off the red CRT and cannot get the dang thing back on - I know it works because it comes on just fine during the guided setup....How the hell do I turn it back on? Holding down the RED button for 3 seconds on the remote doesn't do anything.

I've downloaded the manual from the site here before anyone asks.

Holding the red CRT button down toggles it on and off, it will show on the LCD display of the remote. Frankly, the manual is pretty well written..Sad

If the red is still dead, check the input signal, maybe the R connector of your cable is dead?

Since I've only had Ampros, the setup seems correct to me. However, the order that you correct geometry can have a big effect on how much you stress t he electronics. I used the guided setup for a while, then just followed the steps in the manual to get optimal results. I find that these adjustments are critically dependent on mechanical setup.

If the red comes on during the setup then the tube is not turned off. Check your input cables and if still nothing then try swapping the red and green input cables. If still nothing you may have a problem with the input card.

Are you using a remote or the control software?

You are making this way harder then it has to be. Just push the help button and follow the instructions. Don't read any more into it then what it tells you to do. AmPro's on screen setup instructions are written for a complete novice to follow.
Just do what it says in the order it says to do it. 65[code] toggles red on/off. I would suggest that you start with a lower resolution like XGA (800X600) to practice with. That is a easy one to set up. Feed it that signal, do a clear active channel command, 29[code] then use the help funtion.
