Hallo!
I have this strange convergence problem. It's impossible to get good convergence on blue. No matter how hard i try to adjust it, it keeps failing. Please check the pictures.
What's worth to mention is that I bought my pj as a non working unit. It had common smps failure - burned solder joint. When i fixed it, it started operating good enough to be used.
Other feature of this set is that it takes ~15 minutes to get the convergence back to previously adjusted status (it worms up;-).
I have looked at the board ---> everything looks fine, no burns, no disconnected solder joints.
PJ has
3084 hours on the chassis.
Any idea how to fix to fix this?

This is how it looks like when set on "internal pattern" (not perfect, but good enough):

You should be able to get convergence on blue. When you look into the blue lens is it in focus??

The blue crt is least focused.

I posted the picture (link on the bottom) of how it looks like at genlocked pattern - it looks ok, but when it comes to movie projection it's not working.

Hi Olgierd,
I know you posted this a while back but I came across it looking for a solution to another problem.
Have you tried setting the convergence using a test pattern on your PC (it looks like you are running a PC through the projector) rather than the internally generated pattern?
This is the one I used:

I haven't tried computer patterns because it was hard to switch the patterns between the monitors - i mean lcd and a projector.( I could only run it on my lcd) I found the solution though - the problem was literally between the projector and a computer: Barco magic kit. Couple of months before, when i installed the projector i messed with colour balance on 'barco magic kit' The blue was enhanced a bit too much which caused the signal from the computer to be too strong for the PJ. It was alright on internal pattern but it was crappy when i turned the source on. One problem stayed: it takes roughly 30 minutes for the convergence to adjust -> I turn my PJ on, and the picture is not convergent, when it runs for some time it's back to where i adjusted it before - like it would warm up. But i guess that this is due to it's age (electronic components get older) which is 17 years right now. Almost as much as i got :--).
Cheers and thx for the post.

To me this looks like the blue is smearing off to the side rather than being misconverged. I'm more familiar with NEC's but I would suspect that the blue is being overdriven on real video and that is causing your appearance of blue on the left. I would try to lower the GAIN setting for blue in your greyscale or kelvin adjustments. Be sure to note your current value in case you need to go back.
