Damn so it was you guys I stoped bidding at $650 on 4 different sets. I guess I did not know a secret then? Kidding. Maybe.

Looks like we may have some work ahead of us though, I hope the other 8 winners are mechanically inclined or i have a feeling those will be up on E-bay soon or parted out...I'll post the Numbers on the HDM(Software chips) so we know what to look for if the parts start ending up on E-bay or other places, it suck if you buy a new CLM and it has backwards keystone Etc.

well I feel a little better now, TSE told me that the mounting plate should be able to be put in either configuration, this was with AC only units:
| Quote: | ....VDC has made units in any conceivable config. "Stoplight" style with tubes mounted portrait or landscape mode. Regular style with tubes again portrait or landscape. I gave up on trying to remember all the different types. I think some of the mounting plates will work in either P or L but they might be AC. You will have to see what you got.
The 60KHz limit is from the chip on the HDM daughter bd, it has to be changed. U35 might or might not have to be changed, too. I don't know. It shouldn't be too hard to fix that.

Since you have 5 projectors, I'd say do 1 and 2. Now thems some bragging rights.
Seriously, 2 brand spanking new tubes using max raster when blended with HD145s; I would think that would be sharper than Einstien and a lot less work.
To think I was proud that I just scored a refurbished 57" Hitachi 57F59 for my upstairs for $323, shipping included.

Good news for those who got the Longbow Ultras!!!
| Scott wrote: | Athanasios,
The LongBow version is not the projector with the limited h defl range!!! That is the "Dome" model. You can use the LongBow as it is. The mods made to it were for a wide aspect image, so the mods are good for 2.35:1 aspect!....

Congrats guys! You guys suck!
Hmm.. 3:4 orientation, if you had 3 of them side by side like this, you'd get 9:4, reduce the height a bit on the raster and you could go for a 3 projector cinemascope blend, and the centre of your screen wouldn't be in the blendzone. Would be tough to setup, but oooh, the light!

Why would you need an 18 foot screen for three pjs? You could have a nice bright image at 60" wide for each pj. Also, for kicks darinp2, Scott and myself measured MTF at 800x600 or 640x480. I can't remember which one, but it was a significant increase over the higher resolutions.

Hmm MTF the best i can describe it is the amount of light spread onto a black area if light was passed through a very very thin slit. So the thin light beam would hit the target area and then how sharp that slit is, the less spill over onto the surrounding surface the higher the MTF, if it spreads into the dark area it has a lower MTF. Thie test is used to determine how well optics(lenses) can keep the thin slit together on its way to the target. Or close to something like that. here is better explanation.
http://www.trioptics.com/knowledgebase/mtf.php
The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), describing the resolution and performance of an optical system is the ratio of relative image contrast divided by relative object contrast MTF = Relative Image Contrast/ Relative Object Contrast. When an object (illuminated target or reticle) is observed with an optical system, the resulting image will be somewhat degraded due to inevitable aberrations and diffraction phenomena. In addition, a real lens will not fully conform with the design data. Manufacturing errors, assembly and alignment errors in the optics will deteriorate the overall imaging performance of the system. As a result, in the image, bright highlights will not appear as bright as they do in the object, and dark or shadowed areas will not be as black as those observed in the original patterns. In general an illuminated target can be defined by its spatial frequency (number of bright and dark areas per millimeter) and the contrast (the apparent difference in brightness between bright and dark areas of the image).
fig 1)A perfect grid pattern is imaged through the sample into the image plane
Fig. 2: MTF = Contrast vs. spatial frequency. This figure shows the MTF of a diffraction limited optics and a measured MTF reffering to Fig. 1
Fig. 3: The image of a perfect slit is called "Line Spread Function"
