What size wire are you feeding to your subpanel?

My sub panel comes with a 100amp main breaker and I don't think I will get near that, I can just use a 60amp breaker to feed the sub panel correct?

After reading Athanasios response, and then rereading your question, I think I misunderstood. I thought you were asking about the sub-panel feeder breaker in the main panel.

Figured I would give an update on this.

I got the subpanel installed by a contractor, took him about 3 hours to do and he provided all the materials(cept the panel). Figured for 30 bucks an hour it was well worth it and I can just take care of the rest of the wiring that goes to the panel.

Total cost to have the the panel install was $450, including materials. Nice to have 100amp panel down there now even if I won't ever need it. Double suck though is those expensive new breakers that are now code, $34 a breaker is not fun.

I figure the bedroom and playroom can be one, bathroom be one, and hobby room be another for slots. I figure I would need three slots for the theater. One for the projector and two for the sound. I estimate there is about a 15-20' that I need to travel in order to put in the sub panel.
