Have you changed the RGB switcher board??

Yeah I changed the whole video section as I had "S" model boards from a 1208s/2 I parted out some time ago. The only boards that were not swapped out were the horizontal and vertical output boards, the SMPS (because I didn't have spares), quadrupler and EHT (I assumed the latter two would effect all three tubes if there was an issue). I did change the HV leads for the tubes on the HV splitter and that had no effect.

You can move the the HT leads into different positions in the splitter to determine if its a quadrupler. The problem should move to another tube. Logic suggests that the problem is likely in the the remaining boards though. Can you get your hands on some spares to swap out the horizontal vertical and smps??

I swapped the HV leads on the splitter and that made no difference. I will check the Runco 1100s I have to see if the H and V boards in them are the same. Since they are "Data" grade 1209s they might be the same. The SMPS will be different though and I have no easy access to spares unless they are in one of my chassis here. My intention is to remove the green tube today and use my multimeter to run the tests outlined in the documentation Tom referenced and see if something shows up with that (I will swap any other boards that I have before doing that).

Just to update this tread to bring it to a conclusion. I removed the green tube after the final board swaps made no difference. I tested the tube with a multimeter per the instructions in the document Tom referenced and I didn't get anything unusual (everything was infinite resistance other than the filament). Though it is possible the removal of the tube itself cleared up the dirt. I then did some gentle but firm tapping and reinstalled the tube. It is working as normal now. Woo hoo! Though it looks like I will swapping the projector out for a 9" set.
