I have a g70 with a moome hdmi card, a sony ps3. I have the projector converged for 1080i, but need help in setting up a new memory block for 720p. Can anyone help me in how to do this. I have a game for the ps3 that is only 720p and it is my favorite game but the projector shows it in a unconverged picture. I would really appreciate any help in how to correct this. Thanks for all the help

The G70 is just dropping into a memory block you haven't set up, yet. You just need to go ahead to do geometry and convergence with the 720p signal, and save it to only that memory block (short save).
Did you setup the G70 yourself, or did somebody do it for you?

The guy I bought it from did. Are you saying to converge it with the game on? I've tried that route but when I have the cross hair screen come up, I can't move the blue hair even close to green and yellow before I hit the min setting. I'm afraid to turn the lenses because I would think that would f up the 1080i setting. Just need a little help, I'm pretty sure I can do it if given instruction. Thanks again for any help you can give.

Yes, converge it with the game on. Basically, when you set up the projector, the general process is to do a base setup with no source inputs. That sets geometry and convergence at 480p (by default, anyway). You then save those settings to all memory locations (resolutions). That gives you a starting point for each separate resolution you plan to use, and you then configure and save each one separately from there.
You were probably using RGB shift, when you really needed to be using CENT (or zone 0). The CENT or center control moves the rasters themselves on the tube face, whereas the RGB SHIFT command you were using is moving the active image area around within the raster.
Here's the deal: I could tell you what to do, but I'd highly recommend before you tear into it, you should really read over the install manual and familiarize yourself with the controls and setup process. You can download the install manual here:

Also, do some searching on the forum - there are lots of people who went through the same learning process as you in setting up their machine. The G70 is a hell of a projector, and it deserves to be setup up properly. The more you learn, the better the image can be.
Oh, and you're correct - don't touch the lenses. That's focus and toe-in and it should all be set correctly already if the guy knew what he was doing... and it will most definitely affect your setups.

It wasn't until my fourth setup of my G70 (my first D50 I set up 4 times too) it wasn't until then that I finally got a pretty firm grip on this crazy great little machine. Do like afryia said and set up to the oscillators first. I personally only setup to P2 and then copy and paste the setup to 0-9 then feed a signal and re converge to that. Start with a good mechanical setup, do the focus, get the astig right (LOADS of fun there) then basic convergence to P2 and so on. It is the ONLY way to set these things up properly.
So short answer, there is no short answer. Start reading everything you can find, it'll take up a bunch of hours but it is so worth it in the end.
