at least this one does.
We have a bunch of Sharp XG E3500U digital LCD projectors for conference rooms at work.
none work.
I decided to take some home and Frankenstein one working one out of the carcasses.
I did it.
ran for about 10 min, shut it down, let it cool. powered it back up. all looked great until KAPOW. the bulb exploded in an impressive show of sound and smoke and tinkling glass shards.
a quick check of bulb prices on this pig is cheapest $445 Canadian.
junk 'em i say.

Sir, I understand your frustration, but rest assured, Sharp is a quality product, and it is unlikely you'll experience the same misfortune with a new bulb.

that was a relatively new bulb. it came from the machine in the conf room I use all the time. it had maybe 200 hours on it at the most.
why would bulbs explode? burn out i understand. but explode?

From what I understand... sheer heat on the filament. Same reason you never touch any bulb like that. THe oil on your finger causes light/heat to reflect back into the bulb, causing it to superheat and shatter.

Headlight bulbs are like that too. Never touch one when you are changing it.

He said to the farmer about his daugther
Yeah, digital. I just got in from a super bowl party. I dialed in his 1272 yesterday. Nice and tight. Cleaned the lenses looks great.
Rogers d!gital cable box kept crashing. Pausing stuttering, or the sound would continue but the picture wouldn't. It happened with 20 seconds left to go in the game. You have never seen people move so fast out of a theater. There was a TV in the basement and one in the kitchen too. The basement was stable the kitchen not so much. Someone want to tell me how d!gital is suposed to be better again?
