Hi
I am using Powerdvd Ultra 7.3 to play BD movies from my Lg drive in my htpc. The problem is it will not play to the 2nd monitor (crt PJ). My ATI 4670 and ccc are set to extended desktop at 1980 x 1080i x 30Hz. My pj is detected as HDFUry DVI flat panel display. If I rip the disk and play it from the hard drive, it will play. Could this be an HDCP issue? This card is suppose to be compliant. Driver version is 8561 and ccc is 8.12. Help!

I'll second ANYDVD HD. However I would also try connecting the projector via RGBHV to see if it will play. For some reason it seems like all the HDCP problems I've had have been related to digital displays.

RGBHV may work just fine too. Try it and see

ANYDVD HD helps me to rip movies and play them from the hard drive. It is however, annoying to have to do this. I purchased a BD drive so I could set up custom resolutions for my PJ and ply BD movies. I am connected directly to the DVI port of my graphic card via a small male to male cable.
You are saying that connecting directly to vga without using the Fury may work. What about HDCP?

I remember it as being something about a flag not being set to disable analog output. However if you already have anydvd you should be set.

Don, HDCP is just there to piss you off. Seriously. It serves NO usefull purpose AT ALL.

Let AnyDVD HD run in the background. Make sure you have the lattest version that workd with Power DVD

Well, tried it with ANY DVD running in the background and power dvd still will not play BD on my pj. Plays dvd but not BD. Media Player Classis HD on the other hand seems to be doing a good job and it is free.

Well, it seems I got my high hopes up a little early. MPC does not play all BD discs. In fact, it plays very few. Powerdvd seems like it will play all I will send to it but it wont stream the movie to my pj. Will only play on my main 22" lcd monitor.

From what I read, if I connect via vga instead of dvi, it seems the resolution is brought down to the same level as dvd. I see others on this forum that don't seem to have a problem with this. Could it be that I have something set wrong? Any dvd is running in the background and still no go. BTW, Cyberlink BD Advisor mentions that my graphic card, drivers and monitor are not hdcp compliant yet, BD plays well on my main monitor. Any ideas?

Put your projector on input one and disable your monitor. I do every resolution up to 2048x1536 over RGBHV.

Yeah there seems to be some issue with 2 monitors and HDMI/DVI out an Powershithousedvd.

It will work with 2 x VGA out. Or just remux to MKV which is 100x easier to playback (and gamma is easier).

Well, I am just about ready to throw in the towel. After spending $$ to build an htpc, I can't for the sake of me make it work.
I wonder if my Intel G33 chip set would have anything to do with it? Here is what I have:
Foxtron MB with on board audio and Intel video (disabled in Bios). Chip set as above.
Intel Q6600 quad core. 2G memory
LG HDDVD & BD drive
Ati 4670 vid card with 2 dvi out
SB Audigy 2

Connected through DVI to hd fury to Ampro G4000 on 2nd output. Samsung 22" Lcd on output 1.
Catalyst CC fer 9.1
PowerDvd 7.3 Ultra, Arcsoft TMT and MPC HD as software players. AnyDvd running in the background.

So far, I can send dvd to my pj with MPC and powerdvd. TMT does not even do this, maybe wrong setting or it is because it is a trial version. Tired of putting $$ on things that don't work. Cyberlink BD advisor says my BD drive, vid card and monitor are not hdcp compliant but Arcsoft's BD check tool says I am only missing a software player to be compliant. Go figure!
I have even tried connecting my 2nd output through a vga adapter to my pj. I can't even get the desktop and the scan frequency is set at 480i no matter what I put in powerstrip.

This is not an option. My Pj is in my HT but my PC is not. So I need my monitor to figure out what is going on.
So I setup a PC to play HD content and I am screwed unless I can figure out what the hell is wrong. Should have purchased a stand alone player. Would have been much cheaper but I wanted to be able to create custom resolutions and play 1080i X 96. I think I will look into Tversity and bring the PS3 in the HT.

make them into mkv's...and you'll probably be quite happy.

I agree..that getting Blu-Ray to play well on a pc is probably a pipe dream...

I am reading up on this. I tried one yesterday with TsmuxR and Ripbot. After almost 9 hours, I had the video mkv file but no audio. So I still need to research how to do this.

Would you have a link by any chance showing exactly how to do this?

You don't need Ripbot. Use eac3to to demux the m2ts file to mkv and flac and use mkvmerge to merge the mvk and flac files back together as an mkv file.

Chris.

I will give this a shot. Does converting to Mkv remove the dhcp from the original?

You need Anydvd HD installed, then use eac3to to convert the video to mkv, and the audio to flac.

Then mux with mkvmerge.

There is a nice little gui for eac3to on the doom9 site, in the same audio encoding forum.

Yes, the copy protections are completely removed.

I wouldn't mind creating a GUI to automate the whole process. Is there any one place it's documented the steps?

Mike

You do that and I'll buy you a whole BAR full of beers.

It'll have to be a small bar, though - I'm poor. Wink

Seriously, that's the kind of thing I'd love to do myself but haven't anywhere near enough time to do. I can cheerlead, though:
