I was getting information from this thread that said 1080p would not work from a standalone DVD player. I was also getting information that 1080p would not work well on an XG135LC. So I was reporting that I got both to work and look very good.
I have a Marantz DV7001 DVD Player.

I don't understand either.. are you saying you have a 1080P image from your player to your projector? because that would be very cool if Marantz has disabled the HDCP on that player!!
Never mind, .....are you routing the Marantz through the moome card/ switcher?
See what I mean about the HTPC? very flexible, lots of really good software, image adjustment, and the option of building a media library you can access and play directly.
Are your blurry text box fonts from the computer or the projector menu?

The point of the thread was the DVD Player. So, I got it to work. HDCP does not apply to DVD players, right? Anyway the HDMI from my DVD player goes to my Pre/Pro then to the ISS-HD card in my Switcher... then RGBHV to the projector. I have the Marantz AV8003, which does not process the video signal.
I already know about the added flexiblity of an HTPC, it is why i have been tinkering with them for the past 10 years. I posted my configuration because I got the impression that 1080p would not work well, or perhaps not at all, with my NEC projector. In addition, that nVidia cards would not work. I got both to work. This was not my interest really... it was the DVD Player. I just posted as an FYI.
I changed the back ground to gray or off-white for most menus and text boxes. It fixed it for the most part. Now it only affects the drop menus and the start menu items. It is not that big of a deal because I use Meedio and PowerDVD...

HDCP applies to any HDMI interconnect. The CSS protection on your sd-dvd would trigger HDCP protection of the upscaled signal, and I will infer that the moome iss card "fixes" this problem.

I am kind of confused. Why do you want to run a DVD at 1080p? The best res is usually around 1440x960 which is double DVD.

My projector stats say it can do 1080p... I wanted to see how it looked at 1080p. My DVD PLayer has 4 settings 960 is not listed.

Ok, I see. You were just trying out the different resolutions that the player has to offer. Looking at the price of the Marantz, I think you would have been better off with a less expensive DVD player and VP.

music listening is the primary purpose for it - SACD, DVD-Audio, & CD. It is also much more wife friendly DVD player.
... at 1080i it blows away my nVidia 8500 w/powerDVD and my zoomplayer with FFDShow. It also bested my Radeon 9600 card. I am debating an ATI 4750 card... I am curious how it will do against it. But I still use the HTPC as the primary viewing tool...
